Duration: 1.5 hours
Cooking is a life skill preparing young children for independent living in future. Our cookery programme – Little Chef, is a programme that takes young children on a sensory journey to discover new tastes, textures and smells of different food. Children will be given plenty of opportunities to practice their language, motor and cognitive skills through participation in food preparation with a hands-on experience.
The skills we hope your children will learn from this course include: Simple math skills, Nutrition (encouraging them to try new fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods), learning how to follow recipe directions, Measuring (using measuring cups to get the appropriate amounts of ingredients), Sensory awareness (cooking and baking can expose your child to new textures, tastes, colors, odors, and more), Language skills and Art – From making a face out of vegetables on a pizza to decorating cookies with sprinkles and icing, cooking provides endless opportunities for artistic expression!
